The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Salantai (Lithuanian: Salantų Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ėmimo į dangų bažnyčia) is the most prominent landmark of the town of Salantai in western Lithuania. Recognisable from afar, the church’s silhouette has become a defining feature of the local landscape and a key cultural highlight of the region.
The present-day building was constructed between 1906 and 1911, replacing earlier wooden churches that had stood on the same site. Built of brick masonry, it is a striking example of twin-towered Neo-Gothic architecture, designed by architect K. E. Strandmann (Karlas Eduardas Strandmanas). Its vertical lines and commanding towers give the church a solemn, monumental presence typical of early 20th-century sacred architecture in Lithuania.
