Paplatelė cognitive walking trail (Paplatelės pažintinis takas) is a scenic nature route located in Žemaitija National Park, on the eastern shore of Lake Plateliai, near the village of Paplatelė. The trail is about 2.3 km long, clearly marked with direction signs, and starts with an information board, making it easy to follow even for first-time visitors. The walking surface varies along the route, combining natural ground, hardened paths, and a short asphalt section.
What makes this trail memorable is its peaceful blend of landscapes — it winds through forested hills and along the shores of the Sultekis pond (Sultekio tvenkinys), offering both woodland serenity and water views in one short hike. The route is decorated with wooden sculptures, adding a playful cultural touch, while a small wooden observation tower provides a wider panoramic view over the pond and surrounding pine forests. Benches and resting areas near the start make the walk comfortable and suitable for families, casual hikers, and anyone seeking a short but rewarding nature experience in Lithuania.
