Skuodas City Park, often referred to by locals as Youth Park (Jaunimo parkas), is one of the most picturesque recreational areas in northwestern Lithuania. Established in 1968 on the site of the former Sapieha estate, it organically blends historical manor garden fragments with modern landscape architecture. Spanning over 35 hectares, the park is home to thousands of trees and shrubs, including a century-old lime tree "garden" that bestows the area with a special sense of ancient serenity.
One of the park's most popular attractions is the Health Trail (Sveikatos takas), which stretches for approximately 1.8 kilometers. The trail is lined with unique wooden sculptures crafted by Lithuanian folk artists, adding an ethnographic touch to the natural surroundings. Visitors can also enjoy various playgrounds, outdoor fitness areas, a fountain, and the exciting "Monkey Bridge" over a branch of the Bartuva River, leading to a small, quiet island in the heart of the park.
The park serves as both a natural oasis and a cultural hub, hosting regular concerts and community events. From the central part of the park, one can enjoy a scenic view of the Skuodas Church of the Most Holy Trinity, while the nearby Skuodas Reservoir—often called the "Skuodas Sea"—is just a stone's throw away. It is an ideal destination for long walks, nature observation, and active family leisure throughout all seasons.
